Rainy Day Sessions - Taylor's senior portraits
It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood.. unless it’s spring, unless it’s spring, in Utah. Haha! For anyone who has spent time in Utah, there is a very common understanding that the weather is a little.. let’s say moody. Due to such, I don’t typically cancel sessions unless it’s obvious the weather is going to be disastrous. Sometimes I get it wrong still though and it just rains and rains.
Well, what do we do now? How about, embrace it?? I’ve shot many weddings in the snow and rain, but can’t really reschedule those! Embrace the day you receive! It’s your day! It’s your memory! A rainy or snowy day isn’t bad. (In fact, rain on your wedding day is good luck!)
Other sessions we can possibly reschedule, but not always. For Taylor’s senior session we tried to wait the rain out, but it was as stubborn as we were! Instead we decided to spite the rain and head indoors to the Utah State Capitol building and get started on our session as we waited for the rain to let up. Taylor and her mother were so energetic and willing to embrace the entire day just as it was given to us. We adventured to the Capitol and took some gorgeous pictures. When the rain let up we ventured down to Memory Grove Park and began taking some outdoor portraits as well. Of course, the rain saw us out sneaking around. Caught us red handed catching it on break! Naturally, it started to pour again. Well, we just embraced it and took some beautiful rainy shots to round out our day. Taylor - You are my hero. Thank you for driving down from Hooper to dance in the rain with me!
