We're all a little awkward and that's okay! My goal isn't to photograph something you aren't, but to capture you as the best that you are! I will help guide you both through poses, movements and prompts that help you move and interact with each other naturally and keep you feeling more like yourselves and less like mannequins. The best way for us to get comfy in front of the camera before your big day!

Your engagement session is important for a few reasons. One! They are fantastic for your announcements and having amazing pictures of your glorious selves together. Two! They are our first interaction during a photo session and it is great to break that ice of being in front of my camera prior to your wedding day. You two get to flirt, kiss, laugh and goof around while we hang out and laugh. You both get the opportunity to see how I ebb and flow as a photographer and I get to know you better so I can tailor your experience and prompts for you to better fit our time and your galleries to your unique relationship.

How do we choose a location for our pre-wedding sessions?


I can and will help! Through years of photographing all over Utah mountains, deserts, National Parks, studios and Salt Flats I can tell you about what to expect at different times of the year. Temperatures, wind conditions, snow and heat, wild flowers and fall leaves, amount of travelers and more - I've got the scoop! I also like to consider factors such as your story together, what you love to do together, your wedding theme and colors, and the season. I will gladly help you find the best location to match what you're dreaming of.

Benefits of a Second Photographer



I know my second photographers very well (my best friend and my sister - I know, best job ever, right?) and we work together as smooth as McDonald's ice cream.


My second photographers handle directing, lighting, decision making and posing masterfully. Because of the trust I have in my second photographers I can confidently have them photograph elements of your day independently of me.


There are important moments that  frequently occur simultaneously, making it very difficult (if not impossible) for one photographer to capture solo. Some examples are:


-Getting ready parties located in different locations or rooms.

-You and your partner's first reactions to seeing each other during your first look and coming down the aisle.

-Family portraits and cocktail hour.

-Your private last dance during send off prep.


With two of us there will be double the memory cards recording the once in a lifetime moments from your day, and always a back up photographer ready to fully take over the day (heaven forbid) something were to happen to one of us or our gear.


Having two photographers brings ease to your day. There are always extra helping hands and combined creativity and execution from your photographers, ready for each moment and ready to divide and conquer!

I firmly believe photography is the heart of your wedding day, and videography serves as the perfect companion, enhancing and preserving the depth and emotion of your most important moments.  Imagine a year later on your anniversary cuddling on the couch together with your fur baby and watching your wedding highlights play as a cinematic video, listening to your honey recite their personal vows to you again. Through Google Meet or Zoom get to know each other to see if our personalities and visions are a great fit! We can talk about your wedding ideas, plan out your wedding package, address your concerns and answer all of your questions. If you're feeling ready to book then we move to the next step....

Retainer Fee and Contract


I will send over your invoice and contract and we get your date officially booked! The retainer portion of the invoice is due right away and the remaining is divided into a payment plan that works best for you.

Engagement Session


We plan and schedule your engagement session. We bring your favorite drink and snack and head out for your first photo session with me! Feel free to bring the tunes - we can blue tooth some music to my little speaker and have a great time!

Questionnaire and Final Call


I will send you a thorough questionnaire about your wedding day details, vendors, and more. We will have one more call one to two weeks prior to your wedding day to make sure we're on the same page with timeline, special requests, and any last minute changes.

It's WEDDING DAY!


Yaaayyy! We will be there continuously documenting the action, laughs, and hugs for our agreed upon time. With our communication prior to the wedding day, we'll keep the day flowing smooth and relaxed so you can be present and celebrate!

Right after the wedding


After the epic celebrations I will take all of your photos captured and back them up on two hard drives and save your cards until everything is edited and delivered to ensure your images are kept safe in several locations. I will immediately begin crafting the most amazing wedding gallery for you. I will cull out images with weird blinks and awkward faces and keep the best of the best! Expect your Sneak Peek gallery of 20-30 images to be delivered to you within 72 hours so you can start sharing dreamy images from you day right away!

Gallery Delivery


Your completed wedding gallery will be delivered no later than 8 weeks after your wedding. The link to your online gallery will be delivered via your email. The email will include instructions, your gallery link and your download password. Your gift card will also be delivered via email now that your images are ready! You can order your prints, canvases, and albums directly from your wedding gallery! If your wedding package has an album I will help you design your album and so we can get it ordered and delivered!

If your wedding package includes an Anniversary Session, then we'll be in touch to plan and set up your photo session within 3 months time of your 1st anniversary! We'll do a 45 minute session and celebrate your first year of marriage!

FAQ

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based in Springville, Utah - about 45 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, 1 hour to Park City, 3 hours to Moab and 4 hours to St. George. I love traveling all over our beautiful state, from Logan to St. George and everything in between!

How do you photograph weddings?

I love to laugh, witty banter, and talking about nerdy things, so be prepared for that. I love being involved prior to your wedding day to help choose vendors, a location (or locations) for sessions, setting a timeline with you and your wedding planner, and more. It's important to me your day feels like you, so helping you find ways to celebrate that incorporate some of your favorite things to do and about your story is high on my list. On your wedding day I want you to feel taken care of and able to focus on being with the people who matter most to you. I want to capture the mood and emotions, the calm and explosive moments; from the tiny details in your dress to your drunk best man dancing the cupid shuffle. I'll give verbal and visual direction and motions while having your couple photos taken so you can relax and focus more on how good your partner looks than "I don't know what to do with my hands..."
I'm a go with the flow, witty, energetic goofball that can't wait to be your border collie for the day!

When will we get our photos?

You will receive a "Sneak Peek Gallery" of about 20-30 photos within 72 hours of your wedding day. Your full wedding gallery will be delivered in an online gallery via an emailed link with all your photos within maximum 8 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your story). From your online galleries you can download all your beautiful photos, share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints and albums!

How many pictures will we receive?

I do not limit the amount of images that I deliver to you! I commonly deliver between 100 - 150 images per hour photographed on a wedding day. An average wedding gallery size for a Lilac Package (8 hours wedding day) is 900 - 1,200 images.

Do you have back-up gear?

Yes! All of our cameras have dual card slots, which means each holds two memory cards and records all of your images on both cards simultaneously. This is creating a back-up of your images immediately in camera. Each photographer shoots on two cameras during the day with a minimum of two back up cameras as well. We each come packing several lenses, flashes, batteries, memory cards, and more to every wedding. It's always better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it! (Thanks mom.)
